  The sandblasting business was good hard work.  It was tough work and dirty, but it was a jog. Several friends were working for me, but they could not put up with this kind of effort to make a living.  But I knew from the get-go would be my brother Rony and Bobby would be the troopers. Saving all the lives of the old swamp coolers paid good, and it was helpful for people who didn’t have enough to get a brand-new unit every year.   The deal My granddad made a deal with the owner of a man that he knew for a long time. The man allowed for My grandpa a significant place on the side of whether we could get in the way of the work that the owner had with all his workers. We were way to the backside of the place and could see that there were a lot of employees moving a lot of sand and rock that was going all over the city to make secure fences for the development of the

  The first time I worked for my grandfather, Jim Jordan, it was a little small company. He was an entrepreneur who could spot which folks might need his help or could help him. He knew of a man who had a business up in the Franklin mountains busting rock to be used for rock fences, and he allowed him to keep his sandblasting equipment there. One day, after I had done a few jobs for him, my grandfather asked me to buy the company. He had one guy working for him, but he wasn’t doing a very good job. It’s hard and nasty work. He was getting older and wanted me to take over. If I could make some good money and pay him part of it, it would work out for both of us.
