Sand Blasting Company with Grandpa Jim

The sandblasting business was good hard work.

It was tough work and dirty, but it was a jog. Several friends were working for me, but they could not put up with this kind of effort to make a living.  But I knew from the get-go would be my brother Rony and Bobby would be the troopers. Most of the work was recovering evaporative coolers. Once in awhile, someone would bring an old car or something like that. Saving all the lives of the old swamp coolers paid good, and it was helpful for people who didn’t have enough to get a brand-new unit every year.

The deal

My granddad made a deal with the owner of a man that he knew for a long time. The man allowed for My grandpa a significant place on the side of whether we could get in the way of the work that the owner had with all his workers. We were way to the backside of the place and could see that there were a lot of employees moving a lot of sand and rock that was going all over the city to make secure fences for the development of the city's houses. One day a couple of guys came over to where we were working and asked us, do you ever stop and eat for lunch. We said yes, we do sometimes they said why don't we eat together now. And we did, and we all found a place. That started where we got to meet other guys who had lunchtime, which is chatting with each other. It was great.  Then one day a big bunch of equipment came in and parked almost on that whole area except of course where we were. After a few days, God never

saw before came over and asked me if we would be interested in working for him. I told him I'd listen and tell me what we needed to do for him. There will be a lot of equipment coming here because Highway10 is completed in this part of the State and continues to explain that all the machines need to be brand new looking equipment for this upcoming event selling all. I said to him that there was a lot here to sell. Asked me if we would take a look at trying to use our all Sand-Blasting process to see if we could take the paint to where the one could see only the steel. So we said yes, and then they brought us a small piece of equipment hello let's get started with it. The boss brought if you guys looked at our work to see if they liked it, and they did so before you knew it we had a whole another job to do long days each day.  The two of us were having a good time and showing that we were over asking kicking workers from El Paso, TX.

Coincidentally the work for fixing swamp coolers was not as much in need now because the weather was becoming colder, and people needed something warm. So, we thought that it was lucky for us to get this other job, but we knew that it would come to an end one of these days. And sure enough, the end came, and there was a significant action, and all the equipment went away. I even purchased a truck there for myself. When it was all done, we had a big party thinking that this was the end of working with all these. Towards the end of the party, the owner asked if we would be interested in going with them to several different places in the United States to do the same thing. I told him I thought we would want to do it, but let us have a couple of days to think about it. After we each went home and talked to her wives, we decided that we could do it and everybody went with the idea.

Albuquerque

We were looking for this new plan to get out of El Paso and continue to make some money. Our first start was in Albuquerque, NW, not too far from home. The good thing for all, the spouses were very close, like sisters, along with us guys each other just as guys were. We worked hard from every morning until the sun went down, and luck for us, the girls all decided to drive up to make supper and visit with us. They would get up early to get back to the homes. It was worked out well for all of us. We were learning a bit on this first trip out of the world. One was that we found out that we had to make sure what kind of sand we could use, not just old sand. One thing we never paid attention to when we're in El Paso. We also found out that humidity can change the way sand works. El Paso was dry all the time. Albuquerque had its moment of getting. We learned how to dry sand as another part of our process.

The job was going well. The big job lasted about a month. Then it was the time to stick around during the silent auction. This time I did not buy anything. Toward the latter part of the day, the hotel group of guys had a beer and said our long goodbyes, and got ready to get back home.

Oklahoma City

The big boss came over just as we were getting to drive out and asked if we could go to another job next week in Del City just out of Oklahoma City. We were happy to hear that, but we said the same thing as before, and that was we would let him know after we talked to the ladies. We

decided the money was the best for us to go. We promise to call each night and how things are going. And we wanted girls to let us know how things are going on their end of things. I called the owner and told him that we got there when he told us he wanted there. The next thing we knew, we were on the way.

Going up the job location was like going to a class union, and everyone was happy to get together and get to work again. After everyone got their tools and equipment and put them in a huge building that was set up for us to work in when we could because it was going to be cold was coming soon. He said that he would tell me about the building at 6-am tomorrow. Then, he said that the weather is tough on us and that if we have time, go, and buy some. I knew that was a good idea. So, we found the place we were going to live in for a few months and then went out to get close to what we needed. And as has been said, the snow, dome of it was hard with, and some of it was what a feeling. My team was informed that one of the three of us shoes goes in the b building and warm-up and then brings in another of us continuously taken turns so that we do not get too cold. At lunch, everyone came in along with those who are already inside working inside. It will be the third time working with these groups, and it seems as if we were all coming well in nice sync. There was a time this job was over and ready for the Auction

And More please around the USA
